Robert Moreyra

Co-Founder & Managing Principal

Mr. Moreyra is Co-Founder and Managing Principal of Forge Capital Partners (“Forge”) and its predecessor company, Atlantic American Partners, LLC (“AAP”). Today, both companies operate independently as diversified investment companies with interests in real estate development and private equity fund management. Since inception, Forge and AAP have sponsored over 15 private equity funds that invest in commercial real estate with over $2 billion of assets.

In 2002, Mr. Moreyra founded Atlantic American Mortgage Partners, a private equity fund focused on distressed commercial mortgage investments. This group was later spun-off as Directed Capital Resources and today operates independently as a private equity fund management company focused on the same investment strategy it was founded on, now with ten sponsored funds with over $1.5 billion in acquired assets.

In 2004, Mr. Moreyra formed Atlantic American Realty Group, a real estate development company that went on to develop or redevelop ten multifamily projects located throughout Central Florida comprising over 2,000 units and $500 million of value. Today, this business unit operates as Forge Development Group and remains focused on developing residential properties mainly in Florida.

Also, in 2004, Mr. Moreyra co-founded a series of institutional real estate investment partnerships focused on the acquisition, development and redevelopment of retail properties throughout the Southeastern United Stated and Puerto Rico. To date, four investment funds have acquired, developed or redeveloped over 40 properties valued over $1 billion.

Prior to forming Forge and AAP, Mr. Moreyra was a Managing Director with H.C. Wainwright & Co., Inc., one of the country’s longest-standing, full-service investment banking firms. At Wainwright, Mr. Moreyra focused on public offerings, private placements, debt placements and restructurings, and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Moreyra joined Wainwright from The First American Investment Banking Corporation, where he was Managing Director of the investment banking group. During his tenure at First American, Mr. Moreyra completed several private placements, mergers and acquisitions, a leveraged management buyout, and an initial public offering.

Mr. Moreyra started his real estate career in 1986 with Pardue, Heid, Church, Smith & Waller, Inc., a real estate consulting firm focused on project finance, underwriting, loan restructuring and market feasibility analysis. In 1992, Mr. Moreyra became the firm’s Chief Executive Officer and during the ensuing five years he grew the company into the Country’s largest privately held real estate consulting firm of its type. Mr. Moreyra later sold the firm to an industry consolidator.

Mr. Moreyra has lectured on the topics of real estate investment, corporate finance and strategic planning to groups such as Inc. Magazine, The Executive Committee (TEC), Information Management Network (IMN), REIC, ICSC and numerous colleges and universities. He also served as a member of the University of Florida’s Graduate School of Business Real Estate Advisory Board, and on numerous private and public company board of directors. Mr. Moreyra received his Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Finance and Real Estate from Florida International University and his M.B.A. from the University of Central Florida.
